Hi, I'm Janice Anderson.
You’re probably wondering who is this woman, and why should I listen to her? So here’s a glimpse into my story.
I am a Believer—been saved since age 9. I am wife to an amazing man, mother to three pretty incredible daughters ages 20, 11, and 5 months. (Yeah…I’m crazy…who waits 10 years? Me that’s who! #smh).
I am a low-key nerd. I love to read. Amazon is my best friend (yes, I hide boxes from my husband!). I am a complete gadget chic who is totally into cute shoes, handbags, hair, and flawless skin.
I love all things business, leadership, and Jesus. For the past 12 years of my career, I have served as a full-time entrepreneur. Most importantly, I am unapologetically committed to living my life in a way that pleases the Lord. I pray daily—probably multiple times—I don’t play when it comes to prayer. I study my Bible like my life depends on it—because it does.
And I LOVE being a Daughter of the King. I have resolved myself to this truth “my life is an adventure that does NOT wait for me to happen.”
With that being said, Girlllll…let me tell you...this saved and sold out chick right here has seen some days!
The easiest part of my walk with Christ was saying, “Yes!" to salvation. My amazing husband, whom I love, sometimes gets on my nerves and forces me to pray (and walk).
Otherwise, I might return to my ghetto roots!
And, those cute little princesses I am raising…chile let me just say this – I have a teenager and a ten-year-old...need I say more???
And about my business of 12 years...while I have served hundreds of people and made well over six figures...there was a time (or two - or ten) when I was broke, frustrated, afraid, unclear and alone. And ALL while I was praying, fasting, and leading leaders.
There were many days where I questioned God and His plan. My prayers would start out something like this “Father, for real? You play too much right now. Don’t you think I’ve been through enough? Tell me your plan so I can get with it because clearly, we are operating from two different roadmaps.” I am so serious! He’s my Daddy, we talk like that. He knows everything about me, so with Him - if I think it, I might as well say it. And 9 times out of 10, that’s EXACTLY what I do.
He listens. He’s never moved. He responds. Always in love. Not always what I want to hear, but ALWAYS in love. He’s gentle with me because He gets me.
And that’s why I created Significant Life. After years of checking off the list, doing ALL the right things, then doing the CRAZIEST not-so-right things, laughing then crying, walking in faith, and then in fear, I figured enough was ENOUGH! I asked God, “what’s the deal? What am I missing? Is life with You supposed to be like THIS??? Because, if it is, I made the wrong choice. I thought life with God was supposed to work.”
That was a BOLD prayer. If my grandma knew I said to that to God, she’d get her belt. But I meant every word of it. And God was not surprised.
Actually, He agreed. Life with Him is designed to work! It was at that point that my journey began to shift. Stuff still happened. Shoot - stuff happens even now!
We live in a fallen world. People are CRAZY! (And sometimes people is me.) And…I don’t always make the BEST decisions. And you know, every decision (good or bad) comes with a consequence.
Yet, TODAY, I live a life that is fruitful, fulfilling, and free. It’s not perfect - but I have peace and live from a place of joy. And the days when my joy tries to run away and hide, I stand equipped with tools, strategies, testimonies, and life-giving relationships that re-anchor me. I believe this is God’s plan for all His children, and it is part of my assignment on earth to help His precious daughters live that way.
That’s me.
